Personal Profile
Mr. K.K.
Chan is an experienced consultant with more than 15 years experience in
financial management, IT management, and organizational governance. He had
proven leadership achievement, and provided professional technical services
for business sectors and many public organizations.
Mr. Chan
starts his computing experience in late ’70s with TRS-80 8088 CPU and a
cassette tape storage. Graduated from the Accountancy Department of HK
Polytechnics, he started his career as an Accountant in an international
sourcing company. In 1984, he served as the Senior Accountant of a major
chemical company in Hong Kong. He was involved in the use and development
of the finance and ERP system of the factory. He was promoted to Chief
Accountant, and to the Administration Manager of the group. Reporting to
the Managing Director and the board, his job responsibility was to formulate
an integrated strategic plan to achieve corporate goals. He was also
responsible for budgetary control, the implementation of ISO9000 quality
system, and the removal project of the whole production plant from Hong Kong
to China.
In 1994
he started his career in IT field, and qualified as a Novell Certified
Netware Engineer in 1995. He has been trained in US for Inovis EDI B2B
systems, and got his MBA degree major in IT and Management. During his
leadership the company obtained the solo distributorship of Inovis EDI
system and a number of world class business software. To maintain a mutual
beneficiary relationship with international vendors and clients, he is good
at liaison, negotiation, and project management. He is now leading an IT
firm specialized in
EDI business
systems consultancy; act as an independent system assessor
for clients, and leading the development of software projects. He is also a
lecturer on Project Management and EDI System Development.
Mr. Chan
is the member of various professional bodies including British Computer
Society, and IEEE technical committees. He is a Project Management
Professional with over 15 years of project management experience in various
sectors including commercial, finance and management, religious
organizations, disaster relief operations, government departments,
utilities, and social service fields.
In PMI he is one of the authors of PMBOK
version 4 (2008). He is a qualified instructor of
Project Management
College leading the courses of Master's
Certificate in IT Project Management for Carnegie Mellon University.

Mr. K.K. Chan is a PMP of PMI in good standing, with
over 15 years of Project experience in various sectors including commercial,
finance and management, religious, and social service fields. During 10/05
~ 2/06,
BrainBench conducted an open
contest of Project Management test based on the latest release of PMI's
Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® 3rd Edition), Mr.
Chan scored 94% - the 4th place among 5,376 contesters from 150 countries;
and among the Chinese contestants he was the only contestant that can be
enlisted in the
Worldwide Top 50 Chart among 13,000 test takers. He got a Master
certificate of PM2005 from BrainBench. Mr. Chan is now a project director,
author, lecturer, and developer of Project Management system software.
