An agreement has been made to provide professional network support and regular user support for Chinese Rhenish Church HK Synod, and the head office of the welfare department of the Synod. Our regular user support service will extend to 13 welfare centre of the department.

Network of Chinese Rhenish Church HK Synod and Welfare Department Completed
The first phase of the project, LAN and extranet of CRC-HK was built and now in full operation. CRC is one of the first NPO to use Windows 2003 servers in Hong Kong. Based on FTgate Mail Server and SharePoint Service of Windows 2003 server, their intranet is also supporting users in 13 welfare centre around Hong Kong.

Security Alert - Worldwide Hacking Contest 4-6/7/03
A hacking contest scheduled for this Sunday could result in thousands of defaced Web sites, warned security firm Internet Security Systems (ISS) as it raised the level of its threat assessment meter and advised all enterprises to be extra vigilant. ISS has raised its threat assessment to AlertCon 2 -- the company used a four-level system to note the current security situation -- on the basis of its investigation into the defacing contest. Please take necessary preventive measures to protect the web and mail servers.

As an author and examiner of ISO 9000 Quality Management System, Computer Science, Modern Leadership, NetOp School, NetOp Remote Control, and various subjects, KK Chan was appointed an Adjunct Professor of Management and Information Technology at NYCAS. He is also appointed the Dean of the Chinese Institute with the responsibilities of the formation of the Chinese faculty and the translation project of the exam papers in Chinese.

New Day For Inovis

used to be Harbinger and Extricity have resurfaced with a new name and a
new mission.
Peregrine Systems agreed to sell its supply chain enablement arm (basically, product offerings picked up from acquisitions of Harbinger and, more recently, Extricity. Golden Gate Capital was the buyer. A new company, named Inovis, has now emerged from that deal. Inovis has 520 employees, led by a mix of Harbinger and Extricity executives, and continues to serve many of the same customers as before. However, there have been changes, says company CEO Dave Williams. "We were under constraints at Peregrine from a cost and strategy perspective. Now we can take the cash flow and invest it." For now, the company's offerings remain the same, with products like TrustedLink, Power.Enterprise! and Power.Commerce!, Alliance Manager, and Web Commerce continuing on. FBI 選用丹麥 NetOp Remote Control
The FBI chooses Danware's NetOp Remote Control software.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation in the USA has chosen to use Danware's NetOp Remote Control software. The order which is for 28,000 licenses was completed towards the end of the first quarter of 2002, confirming Danware's strong position in the US market. Furthermore, the order emphasises the very high security profile of our product, including 256-bit encryption of transferred data.

We will upgrade HKRC's Linux web & mail server to a new Windows 2000 Server with FTgatePro in March. We'll setup a SharePoint Team Service for HKRC so that all the RC working units in more than 20 sites will be able to work as a team. We'll provide admin and user trainings in end of March.

The Phase I of campus network for Lutheran Theology Seminary (LTS) is successfully completed. The Seminary is one of the most important Theology Seminary in the Chinese Christian world. The objectives of the project are to enhance the communication and effectiveness of the Seminary. Now the seminary has a local area network in place for all the professors, library and academic staff, and ready to connect to the internet using email and website. By the use of intranet, the sharing of information among the faculty is greatly enhanced.
Part of this project is our response and contribution to the Chinese Christian community. Thank you for those engineers who involved in this project partly on voluntary basis.

Our Property Page gets 1st Rank in Excite search engine
When we examine our website reports from NetTracker, we learnt that part of our hit rates came from the visitors using the keyword "Property" and were referred from Excite search engine. When we test the keyword ourselves by only supplying the word "Property" in the IE URL field, the Excite search engine returns the links with our portal webpage at the Top !! Our marketing department is now exploring the opportunity to promote this page in the property world.

EDI System Training
EDI System Training for product specialists started today. There are 13 consultants attended the training. This training will cover the Harbinger TrustedLink for Windows operation and administration, implementation service, forms development, and data mapping. The system training will last for 2 months.

We've singed the agreement with Harbinger Corporation to reseller their TrustedLink for Windows EDI system. The reseller agreement covered Hong Kong, China, and Macau for an initial period of two years.

With this product they can also analyse the behaviour of their web users and provide contents to satisfy users' need.
